Lock Haven University is a special place. It offers everything you would expect a college to offer: excellent academic programs, qualified professors, and an abundance of social activities. The Haven, though, isn't just any other college. Here at LHU, we take pride in the relationships that students develop with their peers and their professors. We offer cultural learning opportunities both on campus and abroad. We guide our students from the moment they first inquire to the day they cross the stage at graduation. And, we do it all at an affordable cost.

I spent five years studying at The Haven where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S. Ed.) in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish. During my time as a student, I was able to participate in some of the many clubs and organizations that LHU has to offer and also spent a semester studying abroad. During the fall semester of 1993, I had an opportunity to study at La Universidad de las Americas (UDLA) in Puebla, Mexico. LHU boasts one of the country's best study abroad programs , offering a "bed for bed" exchange program in 34 countries on 6 continents. Whether you are interested in learning a foreign language or simply want to experience a different culture, Lock Haven University has a program for you.
Originally from Elk County, I attended Ridgway Area High School (go Elkers!) in rural northwestern, PA. With a student population of 4,800, Lock Haven University was an easy transition for me. Most of the classrooms here hold between 45 -50 students, which felt comfortable to me. Professors were approachable, helpful and accessible; the campus was beautiful and the community was safe. Lock Haven University had everything that I was looking for in a college.

I work primarily with nontraditional students. This includes adults who are interested in going back to school to earn their first degree or returning back to school for a graduate degree. It also includes veteran students, international students, and any student interested in transferring to The Haven from another school. As a returning adult student myself, I can definitely relate to the challenges and fears you might face with the decision to return to school and start something new. It’s not always easy, but it is possible. If you have thoughts of coming to The Haven, give me a call. You CAN do it, and I WILL help!
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems from Pennsylvania College of Technology. I also graduated from the original Lock Haven High School which is now the LHU Science Center. I am thrilled to be working at LHU. I feel like I’ve come home, even though I was born and raised in this area. It is definitely my haven along the Susquehanna!
I’ve had the opportunity to travel and live elsewhere in the country, but I always enjoy, and look forward, to coming home. I think it’s the majestic view of the mountains and valleys on the way home that remind me this is where I belong. I graduated from LHU in 2007 with a B.S. in Recreation Management. I’m a 2002 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School, and I chose to attend LHU because it was small (but not too small) and offered the program I was looking for. I attended an open house program with my parents, and I immediately knew that LHU was the right school for me. Visiting the campus really is the best way to learn whether or not you like the university, and I strongly encourage you to book a visit.
On a personal note, my wife and I are big country music fans. We were fortunate to attend some great concerts this summer. Sugarland, Lady Antebellum, Luke Bryan, Jake Owen, Danny Gokey, Little Big Town, and Justin Moore were some of our favorites. I also enjoy baseball games, good movies, great food, and long walks on the beach (seriously, I like the beach).

I am originally from Clarks Summit, PA (outside Scranton) and I graduated from Abington Heights High School in 2003. In 2008, I received my bachelor’s degree in Art Education from Mansfield University. After graduating, I was hired as an admissions counselor there and spent the fall traveling and meeting students. It was at this point that I found my passion for student affairs, and enjoyed assisting high school students find a college that would fit their needs and interests. I continued my education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where I receive my master’s in Student Affairs in Higher Education this past May.
After graduating from IUP, I had the opportunity to continue working in the State System of PA, here at Lock Haven University. When first visiting this institution I found that everyone was very welcoming and genuine in their thoughts and actions. Finding a place to work is much like finding a college and Lock Haven was my perfect fit. This campus is set in the middle of the beautiful central PA Mountains, right next to the Susquehanna River, which offers an aesthetically pleasing view from all part of campus. What I like most about The Haven is that students are not just a number but seen as individuals. Students are able to get to know their professors on a professional level through courses and advising sessions. Students here are the institution’s number one priority and they want to see them succeed.
As a high school senior looking for a college, it was important for me to find a place where I felt comfortable and could relate to those around me. I was born and raised in the Lock Haven area and graduated from Bald Eagle-Nittany High School in 1998. In 2002, I received my bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Concentration in Accounting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I live right here in Lock Haven with my husband (who is an Alumna of LHU!!), my daughter and son. We love everything about our central PA home…from enjoying the outdoors to town festivities year round!
I am so honored to work for Lock Haven University…it is a truly wonderful college with professors and staff members who care about our students and their futures. My responsibilities include coordinating the transfer admission program, attending high school and college fairs, student application review, and conducting private/small group interviews and presentations.

I am very excited to have the opportunity to share my love for “The Haven” with future students, like you! I am a native of Philadelphia where I attended Abraham Lincoln High School and now I am a proud graduate of Lock Haven University of PA where I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Health Science Pre-Physician Assistant Track with a Minor in Psychology. Coming from Philadelphia I grew up in a close family, and I chose Lock Haven because of the “family feeling” I felt when I visited the campus, and I am so happy I did!
During my time at “The Haven,” I was very involved on and off campus. On campus, I was an Admissions Ambassador, a Resident Assistant, President of the Pre-Medicine Club and Sophisticated Ladies, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Black Student Union, Health Science Club, an AmeriCorps member where I completed over 450 hours of community service, and a Senator for the Student Cooperative Council of Lock Haven. Off campus, I was a Big Sister for Big Brother Big Sisters of Clinton County, and a volunteer at the Lock Haven Hospital and the 2 nd Mile Program. After graduating from Lock Haven, I had the opportunity to go to Florida and work for Walt Disney World.

I am an admissions counselor and 2011 graduate of Lock Haven University. Some of you may have seen me before at high schools and college fairs because I am the road warrior of the staff. In the fall you can visit me for information about LHU at college fairs and high schools in Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. In the spring you can find me at various college fairs all over Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey. Meeting with interested students on the road is the best part of my job, so do not be a stranger and come visit me anytime you see the Lock Haven University banner.
I graduated from Lock Haven University in 2011 with a B.S. in Health and Physical Education. Like our Interim Associate Director Mike Hall, I am also a proud graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School (2006). I chose to attend LHU because of the excellent academic reputation for the programs I was interested in, the family feel to the university when I visited, and because of my dad telling me how much of a great experience it was for him. While at The Haven I was a four year starter for the baseball team and a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).
On a personal side, I am a huge baseball fan. I use to be a Pittsburgh Pirates until my best friend started playing for the St. Louis Cardinals. Go Cards!! I am also a huge rock fan (Def Leppard, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, and Ozzy) and love going to concerts.

I work very closely with the faculty of our graduate programs to assist candidates with the application and admissions process. We are very proud of our on-line Masters of Education and Liberal Arts Programs that provide a world class education while enabling students to study on a schedule that is convenient to them. Our Master of Health Science, Physician Assistant program is nationally ranked. Our faculty are leaders in the field and our students enjoy the financial benefits of attending one of the few state subsidized, fully accredited, and nationally ranked, Physician Assistant Programs in the United States.
I have found that Lock Haven University provides students with a unique blend of small college personalized attention, with university-sized academic opportunities. I enjoy working with adult learners who appreciate the importance of continued education in their personal and professional lives.

As a smaller version of the main campus, the Clearfield Campus has a lot to offer. First, we possess educational opportunities at an affordable cost. Second, we have friendly, student-oriented faculty and staff. Third, the campus has an activities board which provides entertainment and learning opportunities for students. I hope that you will take advantage of the group’s efforts or even join them to help organize events. The list could go on and on, but you must take the next step to see for yourself. If you are a student who is exploring his or her options, we are a great place to begin higher education!

The Clearfield Campus also offers select Bachelor Degrees in Business Administration with concentrations in either Management or Management Information Systems and an RN to BSN completion program. Students at the Clearfield Campus range in age from eighteen to fifty and beyond! If a degree close to home is in your future, come and check us out!
As the only counselor at the Clearfield Campus, my position is unique. In addition to assisting students with the admission process and reviewing student applications, I also work with faculty to create our academic schedule each semester, schedule classes and work with campus administration concerns. In the fall, you may see me on the road in Cameron, Clearfield, Cambria, Elk, Indiana, Jefferson or Potter county. If you would like to learn more, I am just an email or phone call away.
On the personal side, I am a 1998 graduate of Lock Haven University with a BA in Journalism/Mass Communications and a 2005 graduate of Indiana University of PA with a MA in Student Affairs in Higher Education. I live locally in Clearfield, PA with my husband, Greg; my son Luke. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA where I graduated from Mount Alvernia High School. I have worked at LHU Clearfield Campus since 1999.
I would like to assist you with your higher education plans, or at least help you learn more about the process and your options. I am here to help students make the transition to college; now it is your turn to take the next step.

I have worked in the Admissions office at LHU for 17 years and thoroughly enjoy my job. My main role consists of overseeing the smooth running of the office.
We are very proud of our university and our community. Lock Haven is my hometown. My husband and I chose to raise our three daughters here. I am proud to say that my daughters, Danielle, Megan and Lauren, are all LHU graduates.
Clinton County is a wonderful place for outdoor activities and I enjoy spending time on the Susquehanna River, horseback riding or biking in the mountains and just being a part of this friendly community. I am proud to be a part of the Admissions team here at Lock Haven University. I was born and raised in Curwensville, PA and graduated from Curwensville Area High School. Currently, my husband Donald and I live in Flemington (a small borough just outside of Lock Haven) where I serve on Borough Council. We have one son, Matthew, who served in the United States Marine Corps. We also have a 4 pound Chihuahua/Toy Fox Terrier named Little Buck.
I received my Associate’s Degree from Newport Business Institute, completing my internship in the Student Financial Services department here at Lock Haven University. I have lived in the Lock Haven area since 1983 and never really knew what Lock Haven University had to offer until doing my internship on campus. Working here in the admissions office has made me want to continue my education. I am currently taking classes and working towards my Bachelor’s degree majoring in Accounting and Business Administration.

I was born and raised here in Clinton County. I graduated from high school, got married, had my children, and own a home all right here in Lock Haven. I love to travel with my family, but I am always happy to come back home.
I have a wonderful family; I am married to my best friend and have a daughter who is a sophomore at LHU, and a son who is in 3rd grade.
My primary responsibilities include downloading and processing appilcations as well as entering and filing all high school transcripts and SAT scores for the A-K section of the alphabet. I am always available to answer any questions that you might have. Best of luck to you as you continue through your college search.
As a brief personal history, I graduated from Bald Eagle-Nittany High School in 1995 and live locally with my husband and daughter. I received my bachelor’s degree in Social Work in May 2000. Since there are so many facets to the Social Work field, I have found that I use the skills that I have learned throughout my college career to help others at LHU on a daily basis. I am honored to be called an alumna of the LHU Social Work Program.
After graduation, I began working in the LHU Alumni, Development & Public Relations Offices in May 2000. I have also had experience in working in the Offices of Academic Technology & Graduate Studies.
In June 2010, I began working as a support staff member in the Office of Admissions. My duties in this position include coordinating the many forms of inquiries that come in to our office for information, sending this information to interested students, coordinating Open House registration, and helping to maintain our website.
During my time as a student and employee, I have enjoyed learning the various workings within Lock Haven University.
