ESS Leave Training
Service (ESS) is a web-based service which
allows employees to review their personnel
||Employees will log
into a web portal to view their own data
housed in the HR SAP system. The level
of security is similar to accessing
commercial sites such as your bank and
requires secured password access.

- Benefit plans,
coverage, dependents, and contributions
- Leave Balances
- TSA and other
savings plan contributions
- Addresses and
other personal data (dates of hire,
steps to access your personnel information
Before attempting to log into the ESS web
portal, for security purposes you are
required to activate/change your temporary
or expired password.
From your internet browser go to
Click on the Lock Haven University link.
If you are
an eTimekeeper with a CURRENT password,
please skip to step 6.
Click on “Change Your Password”
name (same as email logon (e.g. email@example.com)
“x” is your middle initial (x if you have
“yy” is the last two digits of your social
security number (00 if you have none)
Click on Log On
You are now at the Change Password screen.
Carefully consider what you would like your
new password to be, ensuring that you meet

characters: Lowercase, Uppercase,
Numeric, Special: % $ #
Password may NOT
contain any sequence of characters found
in your first or last name
Setup Your Account for Self-Service.
Typically, this option should be done once,
usually this first time you login. It
allows you to reset your password yourself
if it is forgotten. Complete the
information as requested, then click Submit.
You are now ready to log on to Employee Self
Service (ESS) and view your personnel
into the address field of your internet
browser. Enter your Login & Password.
Enter you Login and Password. (To make it
easier to access ESS add this address into
your Favorites folder.)
