Instructor/Assistant Professor of Biological Sciences
The Department anticipates the need for part-time and/or full time temporary faculty each academic year. The greater likelihood is for the fall semester although spring semester work may develop. In anticipation of this expected need, we are accepting applications from candidates to establish a pool of qualified individuals from which future temporary faculty hires can be made. Teaching duties will generally include some combination of Basic Biology Labs for non-majors (2 hours per lab), Principles of Biology Labs for science majors (3 hours per lab) , and Biological Science Seminar for upper class non-majors (3 hours per week). Classes are taught both during the day and during evening hours. The contracted full time teaching load is 12 contact hours per week with additional teaching done on overload as available. Faculty with an earned doctoral degree and teaching experience are preferred. Applicants selected for the pool must pass an interview process and present a quality teaching demonstration seminar. A personal vita highlighting past college or university teaching experience, copies of college transcripts and a letter of interest should be sent to: Biology Chair, Temporary Faculty Hiring Pool Search, Lock Haven University, Lock Haven, PA 17751 |
