Probationary Status
All full-time, regular employees excluding faculty
members serve as probationary employees for the first six
months or one year depending on the collective bargaining
unit language. Employees promoted also serve a probationary
period. The purpose of the period is to assess the employees
fitness for continuation in the current position.
Performance will be evaluated prior to the completion of the
probationary period. Successful completion will result in
the granting of regular or permanent status. Unsuccessful
performance during this probationary period will result in
extension of the period, demotion or dismissal.
