| Responsibilities: |
This is skilled work in the operation of
equipment and/or single chassis vehicles
with a gross vehicle weight between 10,001
and 32,000 pounds to transport students,
staff and faculty. These employees
will also perform manual work when not
operating equipment. |
| Specific Duties: |
Operate vans, buses, and single chassis
trucks with a gross vehicle weight between
10,001 and 32,000 pounds used in the
transport of students, faculty, and staff
and operates equipment used in snow removal
and cindering operations as needed. |

Operate tractor mounted grass and brush
mowers, hi-lifts or front end loaders with a
bucket capacity of less than three cubit
yards used in maintenance work and utilities
operations; |

Ø |
Perform manual work when not operating
trucks or equipment, including the loading
and unloading of trucks; |

Ø |
Perform minor repairs and preventative
maintenance work on equipment, or assist
automotive mechanics making major repairs to
equipment; clean equipment as needed. |

Complete safety checks and inspections of
equipment prior to operation and maintain
records of operated equipment; |

Ø |
Functions as a lead worker; |

Ø |
Performs related duties as assigned. |
| Qualifications: |
Valid PA commercial driver’s license, CDL
Class B, is required by the date of
appointment;
Passenger (P) and Air Brake endorsements
MUST be held by the employee within 30 days
from the date of employment;
Acceptable driving record;
At least 6 months of experience in the
operation and maintenance of large vans,
buses, and single-chassis trucks with a
gross weight of 10,001 pounds or more or any
equivalent combination of experience
and training;

| Required Knowledge,
Skills and Abilities: |
Knowledge of the techniques, methods, and
practices applied to the care and safe
operation of equipment as noted above and
the state and federal laws pertaining to the
operation of equipment on highways.
Ability to inspect and make adjustments and
minor repairs to equipment, follow written
and oral instructions; use hand power tools;
exhibit sufficient physical strength to lift
heavy objects and to work under adverse
weather conditions.
Employees in jobs requiring commercial
driver's license are subject to random
alcohol and controlled substance testing.
