2009 Annual Dining-In
On November 13, 2009, Cadets and Cadre gathered together for
Lock Haven University ROTC’s 4th
annual Dining-In.
The military Dining-In is a ceremonial dinner, which has its
roots dating back to the Roman army. The purpose of the military
Dining-In is to bring Soldiers together by promoting camaraderie
and esprit de corps throughout the dinner.
In the beginning of the ceremonial dinner,
Cadets are welcomed by Cadre and senior Cadets. Cadets and Cadre
then take their respective places at their tables. The
colors are brought in and Soldiers who have made the ultimate
sacrifice are recognized. After an introduction by the President
of the mess, the dinner is officially started and the fun and
games may begin.
