TLC was begun as an informal group of professors interested in faculty development and improving classroom teaching and learning. The Linda J. Emanuel Teaching Learning Center (TLC) emerged in 1998 when President Willis allocated a yearly budget and remodeling began on the second floor of the Library in a room formerly used for storage and small meetings. Under the direction of Linda J. Emanuel, the TLC began hosting teaching and learning workshops and colloquia organized by various teams of volunteer faculty. A Video Tribute to Linda J. Emanuel After Dr. Emanuel’s death in 2000, Dr. Charles M. Jenkins became the new President and Director of the TLC.
