Conduct a number of searches on the Internet and find locations and topics on a "scavenger hunt" list. Did the learner understand the difference between the various search engines?
 October 1998 Virtual World Tour   Discovering geography on the 'Net  The 3D Atlas, one globe per student, and one contour map. Locate a number of tourist attractions on the Internet. Place corresponding stickers on the globe or map. Was the learner able to find the appropriate sites on the 'Net and on the Map?
 November 1998  Job Hunting on the Internet Using PNI web to find Jobs An Internet Connection and a networked printer. Fill out the online forms associated with the job hunting utility on the PNI site. Print out a list of employment interests and possibilities. Was the learner able to use the Phillynews job search engine successfully? Did he or she print out a list of possible career choices?
 December 1998  Internet Recipes Cooking in Cyberspace An Internet connection, a printer, and in the best of circumstances, access to a kitchen with a working stove.  Locate your favorite recipes on the Internet using a number of different Web sites. Create a dish of your own. Was the learner able to print out and collect a list of recipes from the 'Net.
 January 1998 International e-mail Pen pals Making Friends Worldwide through e-mail An Internet connection and at least one working e-mail account. The Eudora mailing program.  Communicate with a pen pal on the other side of the world using Eudora. Discover interesting facts about foreign lands and peoples. Was the learner able to use the Eudora e-mailing program successfully? Was he or she able to communicate with his or her pen pal?
