Four hours or more

 

  1. Objectives:

Practitioners will be able to:

                Open an account for chatline.

                Find and read a chat agreement and rules.

                Find out more about chatting through the use of web links.

Chat with other practitioners in the Educenter, gathering information about the Educenter and other chatlines.

                Use Yahoo or other search engines to search for other chatlines.

 

  1. Materials:

Computer with Internet access and a computer.

MS Word file with worksheet.

 

  1. Procedures:
    1. Practitioner will access the computer, enter MS Word and retrieve the Word file with the worksheet.
    2. Practitioner will use the worksheet to follow directions on registering for and entering Talkcity.
    3. Practitioner will access Talkcity and find, read, and print (whenever possible) as much information about chatlines as is possible.
    4. Practitioner will enter the Educenter and chat with other practitioners, gathering information to answer questions on the worksheet.

 

 

  1. Evaluations:
    1. Practitioners will register and open and account.
    2. Practitioners will explore and gather information about chatlines and their use and print out the information.
    3. Practitioners will find and print a chat agreement and rules.
    4. Practitioners will enter the Educenter and chat with other practitioners, answering questions, and finding additional information about other resources.
    5. Practitioners will use Yahoo to search for other chatlines.
