an exploration using Alta Vista

         

Grade Level: GED

 

Objectives:

Students will be able to turn the computer on independently.

Students will be able to access the Internet.

Students will be able to access the search engines and choose Alta Vista.

Student will be able to use Alta Vista in order to conduct a search on the Internet using              the guide sheet.

Students will be able to use Alta Vista to conduct a search on their own career choice.

 

Materials include:

Questionnaire: Alta Vista Career Exploration Worksheet. List used to structure the student’s search of the Internet using Alta Vista as the search engine.

Computer

Internet access

Pencil or Pen

 

Procedure:

Instruct students to follow the steps and to find the answers to the questions, writing the answers on the sheet as indicated.

 

Evaluation:

The first four questions are worth ten points.

The next 8 questions are worth ten points each.

The independent search is worth 10 points.
