OBJECTIVES*

Surf the web efficiently to locate information on study skills Apply search information using handout of Search Tips Print information for personal use Teach a classmate how to surf, search, print, and teach another classmate

MATERIALS

            Computer with Internet access

            Computer printer

            Pencil/pen

            Handouts with Search Tips and suggested addresses

PROCEDURES

            Demonstrate the proper way to log on to the Internet.

Explain how to use "quotation marks" when doing a phrase search.

Student will search for information about study skills/or checklists using a search engine.

Student will locate one entry or checklist from a search on the Internet and print the information.

Student will pick one of the study skills addresses given, locate it correctly by typing its address in the URL line, and print a selection from the choices.

EVALUATION

Student provides copies of information for classmates.

Student teaches a classmate how to locate information on the web.

*Assumption is that the number of online computers is limited.
