Criminal Justice, B.S.

It is the purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice to offer a program for Lock Haven University students which:

1.  Promotes in them the skills of critical thinking and creative problem solving,
2.  Encourages ethical decision making, and
3.  Promotes support for constitutional protections afforded the people of the United States.

This major prepares students for a wide range of careers including probation, parole, drug and alcohol programs, victim-witness programs, correctional institutions, juvenile probation, juvenile correctional institutions, criminal justice planning, corporate and individual security, local and state police, federal law enforcement such as FBI, DEA and related areas.

The major includes a 12.0 sh "Career Component" which allows students to explore courses in areas related to the careers they intend to pursue.  An internship is an optional feature of the program.
