Educational Opportunity Program/Act 101 LHU's Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), partially funded by the Pennsylvania Act 101/Higher Education Equal Opportunity Program state grant, assists students whose educational and economic backgrounds impair their initial ability to successfully pursue higher education. The faculty and staff
from the Act 101 Program provides ongoing professional
and peer counseling, study skills instruction and
tutorial services. The Summer component provides
credit-bearing instruction in writing, learning
strategies, reading, and other communication skills.
Participating freshmen who successfully complete the
Summer requirements are enrolled for the regular
academic year. Summer EOP students should meet Act 101
guidelines established by the Pennsylvania Department of
Education (PDE) which include residency requirements,
income guidelines and academic criteria to be met
through high school rank, high school grade point
average and an average score on the Scholastic Aptitude
