Hi, I'm Colby Welshans and I am an admissions counselor here at Lock Haven University. Most of my time is dedicated to traveling to parts of Southern New Jersey, Maryland, Deleware, and New York. When I'm out on the road I'll be attending college fairs and making high school visits to various schools in the areas listed above. If you are a prospective student in any of these areas, I look forward to meeting you and discussing the many great things "The Haven" has to offer.

I am from a small town, Mill Hall, located just outside of Lock Haven. I graduated from Central Mountain High School in 2005, and just recently graduated from Penn State University in May of 2009. I received a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Business Administration, Marketing. Prior to joining Lock Haven University's admissions team, I worked in ticket sales and gameday activites for the State College Spikes. The Spikes are a minor league baseball affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Now that I'm working in admissions, I look forward to helping prospective college students through the stressful, yet exciting process of choosing the right college for them.

Although I did not attend LHU, I do know the campus and the area very well. Having grown up minutes away from Lock Haven, I can say it is a great area and a wonderful small college town. I enrolled in summer courses here at LHU while working towards my degree, and also worked in the President's office as a student assistant. The faculty and staff here are very friendly and go out of their way to help you out and make you feel like you're at home.
