How much does it cost to attend Lock Haven University?

Nearly 80% of our students receive some form of financial aid. We are committed to providing everyone with an opportunity to receive an excellent education, without regard to a family’s financial status.

Do you offer physical or learning disability services?
Lock Haven University encourages academically qualified students with disabilities to take advantage of its educational programs. Once written documentation verifying the existence of a disability is provided by a physician, the Office for Disability Services for Students (ODSS) is responsible for exploring and facilitating reasonable accommodations, academic adjustments, and/or auxiliary aids and services for individuals with disabilities in courses, programs, services, activities and facilities.

What is the housing situation at Lock Haven University?
The university guarantees on-campus housing for the freshmen year. We offer a variety of campus living units. There are six traditional style residence halls (usually 2 students per room) and one apartment-style living unit.
There is also an abundance of off-campus housing options, including Evergreen Commons, suite-style apartment complex owned by the Lock Haven University Foundation which is reserved for LHU students.

Can my son or daughter have a car on campus?
Students are required to have 48 credit hours before they are able to receive an on-campus parking permit. Students who have extenuating circumstances may contact the Public Safety Office for additional information.

How safe is Lock Haven University and what security precautions do you offer students?
Keeping your son or daughter safe is a top priority to Lock Haven University. The campus police department consists of 8 full-time police officers including a safety officer, a criminal investigator and training officer/supervisor, one security officer, one full-time secretary, and approximately six student dispatchers. Our officers are on duty, on campus, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. ID cards are required to enter all of our residence halls, and the campus is well-lit during the evening and night-time hours.
