information for transfer students
frequently asked questions
What are the minimum requirements to transfer to LHU?
Students must have a minimum of 12 transferable credits and a 2.0 cumulative GPA to be considered for admission.
Students who have fewer than 12 transferable credits will be reviewed based on the student's high school transcript in combination with the college credits that they have earned.

What if I have fewer than 12 transferable credits?
We will closely review your high school transcript and SAT scores in conjunction with the college coursework that you have completed.
If you are enrolled in your first semester of college coursework, we may be able to render a decision on your application that is based strictly on your work in high school.

How do I know if my credits are transferable?
If the credits are posted to an official transcript at a regionally accredited institution and a grade of “C” or higher is earned, they will most likely transfer to LHU. Please note that remedial courses do not transfer, regardless of the grade earned. Please refer to the “Transfer Credits” section of our website for additional information.

Are transfer students required to live on campus?
No. In fact, transfer students are encouraged to pursue off-campus living arrangements. Students wishing for a community-living experience may wish to consider living in Evergreen Commons, an off-campus apartment complex offered only to LHU students.
There are times throughout the year when transfer students may be considered for on-campus housing. If interested, please contact the housing office to determine if there are spaces available.

When will I receive a schedule?
All first-time LHU students, including transfer students, will have a schedule completed for them by the Registrar's Office. When designing a schedule, the Registrar will consider your transfer credits, courses required for your major and courses with availability to select your schedule.
You will be able to drop/add to suit your needs. Please note that your schedule will not be assigned until you are accepted and pay the $200 enrollment deposit.
