open house team
Students interested in working for the Office of Admissions who have challenging schedules that prohibit them from working during the Monday-Friday work week may wish to consider joining the Open House team.
This team requires student ambassadors who are willing to become experts on the entire campus; its academic programs, facilities, key personnel, history, clubs, organizations and activities. You will need to possess a strong work ethic. We can teach the rest.
In addition, all students must master the skills necessary to become a master tour guide; public speaking, small and large communication and listening skills are all a must. Extensive training and evaluation will be required prior to joining our team and all students must be willing to commit to regular on-going training and evaluation to remain a team member. A commitment to our open house programs is a must.
Additional Saturday tour guide hours are available and students are encouraged to give weekday tours as well. All student ambassadors must work one Saturday group presentation per semester. Open house team members average 1 1/2- 3 hours per week, except open house weekends, when an additional 5-6 hours can be expected.
