Freshmen Scholarships

We understand that finding money to help pay for college is often the most stressful part of the college search process; therefore, we invite you to apply for a Lock Haven University scholarship. Some of these awards are merit-based while others depend on residence, major or SAT/ACT scores.

pic   For priority consideration for an LHU freshman scholarship, students must print, complete and return our scholarship application by February 15th, 2013. Scholarship applications will continue to be accepted after that date if scholarships remain unawarded. These scholarships are for incoming freshmen only and will be applied to the 2013-2014 academic year.

A list of 2013 scholarships and their requirements should be reviewed prior to submitting the application. The scholarships on this list are reserved for first-time freshmen students. Please note that some scholarships also require a second application to be completed through a specific organization.

Dr. Arthur J. & Helen M. Horvat Scholarship

We realize that some students will not meet the requirements of any of the LHU scholarships and encourage students to look to community organizations that offer scholarships such as: the Eagles, Elks, Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Knights of Columbus, employers, unions and churches.

If you are a high school senior, check with your high school guidance counselor for additional sponsors. Scholarship information is also available online through other sites. These sites are provided to give you additional information with regards to financial aid. This website contains links to other related Internet sites and resources. The family of Ryan Graham and the Clinton County Veterans Affairs Office are pleased to introduce the Annual Ryan Graham Memorial Scholarship.

The inaugural scholarship will be awarded on Veterans' Day 2012 to an Honorably Discharged Veteran of the United States Armed Forces who has a service-connected disability and is enrolled at Lock Haven University 3/4-time or full-time, or can show proof of being enrolled for the Spring 2013 semester.

Applications are available at the Clinton County Veterans Affairs office in the Clinton County Courthouse, 230 E. Water St., Lock Haven. APPLICATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 31, 2012 AT 5:00 P.M.
