freshman scholarshipsWe understand that finding money to help pay for college is often the most stressful part of the college search process; therefore, we invite you to apply for a Lock Haven University scholarship. In 2007, the Admissions and Foundation offices were responsible for awarding $44,725 in freshmen scholarships. Some of these awards are merit-based while others depend on residence, major or SAT/ACT scores. For priority consideration for an LHU scholarship, students must print, complete and return our scholarship application by February 29th, 2008. Scholarship applications will continue to be accepted after that date if scholarships remain unawarded. A list of available freshman scholarships and their requirements should be reviewed prior to submitting the application. The scholarships on this list are reserved for first-time freshmen students. Please note that some scholarships also require a second application to be completed through a specific organization. We realize that some students will not meet the requirements of any of the LHU scholarships and encourage students to look to community organizations that offer scholarships such as: the Eagles, Elks, Rotary, Kiwanis, Lions, Knights of Columbus, employers, unions and churches. If you are a high school senior, check with your high school guidance counselor for additional sponsors. Scholarship information is
