Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Department chairs are requested to notify the University promotions committee of the applications for promotion.

Notifications should include the number of applicants, names, rank sought by applicants, and their contact information.  Submit this information to Denise Tyson UPC Chair at dtyson@lhup.edu or in Robinson 104.

The Chairperson shall forward the full list of applicants to the UPC and to the appropriate Dean/Manager

 

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 - Friday, January 6th, 2012
 

Denise Tyson will accept dossiers/portfolios in the library on the 2nd floor on December 13th from 10:00 a.m. to noon.  Dossiers that are not delivered by that date will be accepted by TBA


. 

 

Portfolios/Dossiers should contain all information EXCEPT  1) Department  Chairperson evaluations & 2) Department committee evaluations

Friday, January 6th, 2012

All Portfolios will be moved by UPC to a locked common access area in Stevenson library to create access by the Deans as per arbitration findings and new agreement

 

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

The Department promotion committee shall send its detailed recommendation(s) for each applicant directly to the UPC chair no later than February 1.

 The candidate’s promotion application is returned to the Department Chair.

Department recommendation letter(s) to Denise Tyson UPC Chair in Robinson 104. Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.

 

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

The Department Chairperson shall send final application dossier and recommendations to the UPC chair no later than February 1.

Department chairperson promotion recommendation letters should be submitted to Denise Tyson UPC Chair in Robinson 104.

Wednesday, February 1st, 2012

The Dean reviews the Candidates files after January 7th, 2012.  Must complete review by February 1, 2012 and submit recommendation letter.

Dean promotion recommendation letters submitted to Denise Tyson UPC Chair in Robinson 104.

Dean will send a copy of the recommendation to the candidate.

The Provost reviews the candidate’s complete application by this date.

Provost will draft recommendation letter and submitted to Denise Tyson UPC Chair in Robinson 104.

Provost will send a copy of the recommendation to the candidate.

Friday, April 1st, 2012

Committee review of materials, invitations for promotions candidates to meet with the committee, committee discussions, development of rankings, etc.

Please note that candidates may present any relevant new materials or information since the February 1 deadline during their meeting, if they so choose.

Sunday, April 1st, 2012

UPC chair informs each candidate of their ranking by letter no later than April 1st.

Letter sent to each candidate with ranking no later than April 1st.

Sunday, April 1st, 2012 – 5th, 2012

Candidates may exercise right to meet with UPC Chairperson and one additional member to discuss their ranking. Requests must be made within five (5) working days from April 1, 2012

 

Friday, April 13th, 2012

University Promotion Committee submits a complete, ranked-in-group list of candidates together with all recommendations and final promotion scores to the President.

UPC Chairperson, Denise Tyson submits letter to the President with rankings as required.

Sunday, July 15th, 2012

The President informs candidates and announces promotion decisions no later than this date.

President notifies candidates by letter of decision on promotion.

 * Please note the provision in the new guidelines is consistent with the old guidelines which state that the dossier should be submitted by November 1.  There is also wording in the guidelines which states “Recognize that this application gains additional components as it moves through the process.”
