The Newsletter Committee usually meets only once per year -- as early as possible at the beginning of Fall in order to choreograph the composition of the newsletters and to determine each member's responsibilities. These are usually divided into Kudo's, Getting to Know You, Photos, and Internet Uploads.
Each member compiles their information individually and takes less than an hour or so each month, except in Spring when two issues appear in one month. It is then given to the APSCUF Office Manager to assemble the layout of the newsletter itself.
The Editor is appointed by the local APSCUF Chapter President, whose appointment is for three years. The Editor is also recognized as the Chair.
Some responsibilities of the Newsletter Committee:
- produce ten issues of the local newsletter per academic year
- compile and edit information obtained, and to edit / proof-read data before sending to Office Manager
- for the Editor, to review for final editing, proof-reading, and verify any layout concerns before publishing
- publish to the APSCUF website
