Wellness

Outcome: Students will gain the knowledge and skills to make informed and appropriate health choices for themselves and others .

The university's general education curriculum develops students' knowledge and skills related to wellness through selected introductory courses. The university gathers data for assessing students' knowledge and skills from these courses each year. (In addition, the university also reviews data from majors that assess relevant knowledge and skills.)

A rubric was developed by a subcommittee of the Outcomes Assessment Committee. For questions concerning the rubric or its use, please contact Julie Lammel by email or at 2826.

Departments that offer general education courses in wellness should report general education assessment data as part of annual program assessment reports.

Confidentiality: The university gathers assessment data for the purpose of improving its educational programs. Individually identifiable data will be available only to the faculty committee responsible for reviewing data in the particular area. Only aggregated data will be made public for purposes of evaluating programs and documenting educational effectiveness.
