Course Description and Content The aerospace/aviation workshop offered by Lock Haven University is designed to increase general aviation awareness among the public, prepare educators to include aviation principles in their courses, and provide students with the ground school training needed for the private pilot exam. The course is offered at both the undergraduate (AVIA115) and graduate (AVIA615) levels. Included in the course is five hours of actual flying time with a certified flight instructor (CFI). The course is designed to provide the student with a wealth of new information. Topics to be included are:
LHU tuition costs can be found by clicking here. Students can participate in up to five hours of flight instruction at a typical rate of $125/hr (airplane rental + instructor). A list of suggested supplies with their associated costs are listed below. Students can participate in the class without purchasing all of the supplies. However, if you anticipate completing your pilot's license, then it is recommended you purchase all.
