Lock Haven University typically receives a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Bureau of Aviation to help defray some of the course costs for PA certified teachers who are currently employed by a PA school district.  The grant will assist by paying for necessary books, supplies, and up to five hours of flight instruction.  In exchange, the teachers must:

• Develop a grade-appropriate, standards-based unit of aerospace study to be implemented in the classroom

• Provide annual feedback to the Bureau as to the implementation of aviation in their teaching curriculum and number of students taught for three years following the completion of the course
