- Service Learning Component: “Adopt a School Project”
The students work closely with the two highest poverty elementary
schools and identify the 25 most needy families and work with
LHU faculty to completely provide all their Christmas needs.
- Community Partners: Robb Elementary School and Dickey Elementary
School and various corporate sponsors such as Woolrich, Nike
shoes, Wal-Mart.

Health Science Club
- Community Based Research: The two most poverty stricken elementary
schools are adopted and a needs assessment is administered to
the faculty and staff that identify educational and supportive
activities our students can provide to enhance the learning environment.
Services and programs include such activities as mentoring at
risk youth; dental care lessons, manners and general health concerns.
