The student will examine Women's Health Issues with an emphasize on health promotion, the impact of multicultural and diversity issues on women's health and women's health across the lifespan. This course will encourage students to examine their health-related preconceptions, attitudes, and behaviors with an emphasis on a holistic approach to health. While the focus will be on "women-only" topics, these topics will be discussed in a way that both women and men will benefit from recognizing and addressing key issues that effect entire population health. Most recent medical and scientific information will be presented. Active participation is required and is dependent upon the student’s completion of pre-class assignments.
