LHU Field Hockey Camp
August 3 - 6, 2014
The 2014 summer camp season will mark the sixteenth year for the Lock Haven University Field Hockey Camp. Like other LHU summer camp programs, this camp will feature outstanding instruction and a great deal of individual attention for each camper. Two lighted artificial turf fields and 8 grass-playing fields make LHU's fields among the best field hockey facilities in the United States. Campers will also have access to a brand new recreational facility and a camp store.
Field Hockey at LHU provides a fun and an exciting summer camp opportunity in a college environment with a championship tradition. Athletes will learn new skills and game tactics from a staff of the finest coaches and players. Instruction will be given in Individual techniques and all aspects of the game includ-ing game strategies and specialty situations. In addition, the instruction will be geared toward playing the game, and there will be lots of game play throughout the week. A combination of small sided and full 11 v 11 games will be at the core of the camp curriculum. Specialized goalkeeping sessions will be held and our experienced goalkeeping staff will teach the key technical, tactical, psychological and physical aspects of this crucial position.
Our coaches believe in the "total experience" of the camp and, because of that, the enjoyment of the activi-ty is important. Campers will have fun! Campers will be grouped by team and skill level for an optimal learning experience. Team building activities with our sport psychologist will supplement skill work. Staff games at night under the lights with the international coaches are a popular highlight of the camp.
