Beginning Fall Semester

Tutors needed in Tutorial Services.  Outstanding students with great people skills are needed to tutor general education courses not covered by the Math and Writing Centers.  Qualifications are:
  1.  3.0 GPA or better in major
  2. 2.5 GPA or better
  3. An A or B in the class you wish to tutor
  4. Recommendations from two LHU faculty (use the form at
  5. Take ADAC 200 and get C or better in class

Once there please:

  1. Click the link ‘Tutor Responsibilities’ and read them for a better understanding of tutoring.
  2. For the LHU faculty recommendations, please use the form linked under ‘Recommendation Letter to become a Tutor’.
  3. Fill out the application form linked under ‘Becoming A Tutor’ and click submit.

 Tutors provide group peer tutoring and are paid $7.15/hr.

OFF CAMPUS

  • Four (4) to six (6) outgoing and personable people needed to administer surveys at the 2009 Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts (http://www.arts-festival.com/) in State College, PA.  It would be important to be able to work 2 - 3 days between Thursday, July 9th and Saturday, July 11th, for a period of 4 - 8 hours each time.  You would get paid $8.00/hour. Our intent is to collect approximately 1000 surveys between the three (3) days during the hours of 10.00 am and 8.00 pm.  In addition to the cash payment, you would receive a 2009 Arts Festival T-shirt.  Please contact Julie Lammel at jlammel@lhup.edu if you are interested and can commit to the responsibilities. 
     

  • Also need someone familiar with the statistical package SPSS (available on student lab computers at LHU) to enter the data from the Arts Festival Surveys immediately following the festival.  If you are on campus in July and are interested in entering data or learning how to enter data, please contact Julie Lammel at jlammel@lhup.edu.  Payment is $8.00/hour.

Beginning Fall Semester
Student worker needed for the fall ’09 semester and spring ’10 semester.  Searching for a dependable student worker who knows and appreciates the direction the music area is moving in, namely the promotion of the music education program and the “All Steinway School.”  Assistant duties in the classroom will include basic supervision of my Intro to Music class, the taking of the roll, the grading of multiple choice tests, etc. Office responsibilities revolve mainly about the advancement of the music education program, necessitating good typing skills and an affinity for organization. My student worker may also be asked to deliver articles to other offices in the building or to other building on campus., and to take and place phone calls if I am out of the office. Hours are flexible except I will need a student worker each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from  11:15-12:05 to assist with classroom responsibilities.  Twenty hours per work will be expected.
