B.A. International Studies
You will study the processes of globalization
and the interactions among diverse nations and
cultures. You can choose from concentrations in
human geography, global economics, international
relations, Latin American studies, or culture
and language. You can emphasize
Africa, Asia, Europe, or Latin America in your
studies or you can choose a global approach.
Most of our students study abroad for a semester
or more. LHU’s Institute for International
Studies maintains exchange partnerships with
more than 30 universities in over 20 countries.
Faculty
Professors contribute to this program from a
large number of disciplines, including political
science, geography, history, economics, foreign
languages, anthropology, sociology, art, music,
and English. They have taught courses, conducted
research, and traveled extensively in dozens of
countries. They have earned a number of
Fulbright and other awards for
international teaching and research.

Career Opportunities
Graduates have continued their studies at
Villanova University, American University,
Georgetown University, Dickinson School of Law,
University of Texas, and University of Chicago.
They have worked in Japan, China, and Africa.
They have been employed by the
Peace Corps (both in Washington D.C. and in the
field), by the United Nations in Japan, by the
JET Program in Japan, by the U.S. International
Trade Commission in Washington, as a photo
interpretation analyst in Washington, and in
corporate positions in the U.S. and China.
Facilities
The Stevenson Library is interfaced with the
PASSHE state library network allowing access to
millions of volumes and research materials.
Classrooms are also equipped with SmartBoards
allowing PowerPoint presentations and
interfacing with the Internet.
