.S. Sport Administration
This well-reputed LHU degree is approved by the North American Society for
Sport Management (NASSM). It emphasizes the administration of athletic programs and activities as well as sport business, marketing, media, and communications.
You may join the student-led Sport Administration Society which attends seminars, conventions and job fairs as well as organizing community events and other activities.
To gain hands-on experience in real-life situations, you will be required to complete a field experience at the end of your studies. Some recent internships have included the Atlanta Falcons, Florida State Athletic Department, Nassau Coliseum, New Jersey Cardinals, New York Mets, Women's Sports Foundation, and the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Many times, these internships provide an opportunity for future employment.
Lock Haven University boasts excellent facilities including five gymnasiums, each offering a variety of equipment and sport areas such as tracks, basketball and racquetball courts, weight rooms, cardio machines, and much more. There are seven tennis courts, a softball field, soccer/field hockey turf fields, and an Olympic-size swimming pool. An exercise research lab allows you to study health and physiology through first-hand experimentation.
In addition to the majors listed, you may also complete an 18-credit minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology.
All faculty members have a strong background in sport administration, both in theory and in practical application. With their diverse special interests, you will be exposed to a broad range of expertise. They are dedicated to teaching and are always available to help you succeed.

There is a strong demand for our sport administration graduates. You will be prepared to work in professional sports at a local, regional or national level, including the management and/or marketing of all sport areas. There are also many opportunities to manage an athletic facility in communities, convention centers or hotels as athletic directors or sport facility coordinators, and on staff for professional sports teams.
