An introduction to the major classes of biomolecules; proteins, nucleic acids, carbohydrates and lipids. Emphasis is given to the relationships between structure and function and the role of the biomolecule in metabolism. The laboratory will include the application of modern quantitative methods of biochemical analysis.  Prerequisite: CHEM205 or CHEM221.
