The purpose of this pathfinder is to provide
you with an overview of services and resources available via Clearfield Campus Library
and Stevenson Library that can be of benefit as you conduct research for
your seminar topic. Resources identified are not meant to be comprehensive
but to serve as a starting point for identifying and locating needed books and
articles.

Reference assistance is available to help you with any stage of your
assignment or research process. You can either stop in the
library, call, e-mail or use the Ask A Librarian
online form.
How do I....
- Find a book...
- Use PILOT, the library's online catalog to locate books.
You can search by:
- Keywords
- Exact title
- Author name
- Subject
- Use
UBorrow or
EZBorrow to search the catalogs of other libraries.
- Find articles in magazines, journals or newspapers...
- Use any of the article databases listed below to find journal, magazine or
newspaper articles on your topic. A number of the databases
provide access to the full text of the articles.
- Access article databases off campus...
- A valid LHUP ID number is required to access databases from
off-campus. Simply enter your ID number or 14 digit barcode at
the prompt.
- Know if we own a particular journal...
- Find Reserves...
- reading materials placed on reserves by your professor are located
at the circulation desk in the library.
- Cite a book, article or web site...
- APA - Students are to use the APA style manual for creating citations.

your books online. - Use this link to renew your books
online. Your username and ID are required.
- Use Interlibrary Loan...
- ILLIAD is the
interlibrary loan system used for borrowing books and articles not
available through PILOT, UBorrow, EZBorrow or a full-text article
database. First time users must create an account prior
to requesting materials.
- Evaluate a web site...
- Use the 5 point checklist from

the Bad & the Ugly" written by Susan Beck of New Mexico State
University Library to determine if the web site you are reviewing is
of quality.
