In 1904, Alpha Kappa Psi (AKPsi) was founded on the principles of educating its members and the public to appreciate
As the largest and oldest professional business fraternity in the world, AKPsi involves students and alumni in professional development opportunities. Both the national organization and local chapters sponsor educational activities throughout the year in such areas as career development and leadership skills.
At the national level, members attend the Principled Business Leader Institute which involves spending time learning and doing activities surrounding the five core values of brotherhood, unity, integrity, service, and knowledge. Sessions focus on such topics as sustainability of chapters, managing organizational change, leadership, business, and ethics. Locally, the Xi Pi Chapter organizes and conducts several activities including resume workshops, interviewing skills, one-day campus cleanup, a spaghetti dinner for the local community, Sleep Out for Hunger, and the LHU Business Hall of Fame Panel Discussion that kicks off the annual Hall of Fame events.
