B.S. Secondary Education - English

Building upon our belief that teachers are the core of an enlightened society, our two Bachelor of Science programs in Secondary Education offer intense curricula that blend current pedagogical theories with practice. Beginning in the sophomore year, our majors are placed in varied secondary education classrooms, putting to use what they learn in their university courses. The Secondary English and the Secondary English/Special Education (a dual major) programs here at LHU are noted throughout the state as particularly demanding. That rigor is rewarded with a 90% pass rate (2012-13 graduates) on the Praxis II exam (a step in achieving certification) and an 80% employment rate working with adolescents (2012-13 graduates).
