Instructional Technology Concentration

About the Concentration

Lock Haven University is offering Instructional Technology Concentration courses that can be taken separately or can be taken as the elective coursework for one of our other online Master of Education Programs (Alternative Education and Teaching and Learning). The Instructional Technology courses and both MED programs are offered 100% Online.

Professional Preparation

Instructional Technology is not about computers, it is about using technology to develop rich learning environments. A technology assisted classroom can create a project-based learning environment designed around real-world context. Technology can provide a venue for students to continue to engage in discussions after school and collaborate on solutions to problems.

The concentration in instructional technology introduces students to the management skills required to deliver a stable functional technology assisted teaching and learning environment. Students will choose individualized projects, design needs assessments, research products that support the functionality, compare usability, create a workflow for users, determine student and faculty satisfaction, and analyze the cost effectiveness versus improved learning outcomes.
