Many members of the Biology faculty engage with students during independent study research projects to help ensure that there are ample experiential learning opportunities available. Recent student independent studies have included research in cytotaxonomy, microbiology, entomology, ornithology, aquatic ecology, molecular biology and wildlife management. Many of these projects have been so successful that the results have been presented at scientific meetings and published in scientific journals. Recent examples of projects and photographs of our students presenting their research are provided below.
Students have access to their own research lab to facilitate collaboration and discussion among research students.
