The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Health Science and the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Athletic Training are designed to prepare program graduates for entry into professional and graduate schools in a variety of allied health fields. You may choose from five different options of major interest; Athletic Training, Pre-Physician Assistant, Pre-Physical Therapy, Pre-Professional, and Community Health.
This program includes a strong foundation of natural science courses combined with human sciences, unique advanced courses and practical /clinical experiences.
Members of our faculty hold advanced degrees with a wide range of expertise. They are active in scholarly work in their respective fields, regularly become involved in presentations to national and state conferences, publish in peer-reviewed journals, provide leadership in professional organizations, and receive grants. You will find all faculty members serving as academic advisers to students in the major that allows for close academic and career planning.
Lock Haven University provides exceptional, state of the art facilities for the Health Science program. There are athletic training facilities, an exercise physiology lab, rehabilitation center, and gross human anatomy (cadaver dissection) lab.
