“I operate and maintain the station’s Chyron Lyric systems. I work closely with our art department to import new graphic looks, and I build many of our text layouts for news and programming specials. There is nothing better than working on a live television program. The deadlines involved make each day a new and different challenge. I have worked with people who have attended much more expensive schools, and they are still working their way up the News ladder, moving from one small market to another. Out of school I started at a small cable station and after less than two years, I was able to land a job at the top station in the nation’s 4th largest market. I attribute much of my success to all that I learned at LHU.” |

"My beat covers Phillipsburg, N.J. and the surrounding municipalities and townships. I’ve learned you can never believe you have your day planned out. Anything can happen in the newsroom. I absolutely love my job’s variety. Writing feature stories about individuals overcoming hardships or controversial issues in the community never bore me and luckily, there are always plenty of both. A career in journalism means you will always be learning and discovering new perspectives about the world around you. “The opportunities offered outside of the classroom at LHU are some of the most valuable. I perfected my writing over the years with the help of the Eagle Eye, learned valuable news gathering and producing tips from Havenscope, and have put my radio experience to use with an audio feature at the Express-Times known as Five Questions. Without a doubt, the Communication program’s wide range of classes and extra-curricular activities have prepared me to succeed in our multi-media world.” |
