Mr. David Haag is a retired Foreign Service Supervisory Special Agent with the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS), the law enforcement arm of the U.S. Department of State, who now does security consulting with the State Department and the private sector. During his almost twenty-four years with DSS, Mr. Haag served as a Regional Security Officer at the American Embassies in Mexico City, Canberra, Australia, Kingston, Jamaica and Budapest, Hungary. Domestic assignments included tours as a shift leader on the Secretary of State’s protective detail, mobile training team leader, counterintelligence division section chief for Eastern Europe, and Regional Director for DSS International Programs in the Western Hemisphere where he was responsible for more than 100 RSOs and 65 posts in the region. Prior to joining DSS, Mr. Haag worked for almost seven years with the FBI as an intelligence analyst and legal analyst.  Mr. Haag is also an Adjunct Instructor with Henley-Putnam University, teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in several components of protective security operations.

Mr. Haag holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College and an undergraduate degree in History from Dickinson College.

Presentations were given in the classrooms of Dr. Dwayne Marshall (Criminal Justice Senior Seminar) and Dr. Elizabeth Brooke Harlowe (World Politics). Dr. Haag was also available to talk with students during the Job Fair sponsored by Lock Haven University’s Career Services Department, on February 27th.

 

 


 

 

Williamsport Mayor and Police Chief Visit LHU Campus

They visited to discuss the Williamsport Bureau of Police and answer questions about policing and administration
of justice.

The visit was part of
Marshall's lecture series on policing. Marshall has hosted local, state and federal law enforcement representatives, including Lock Haven Police Chief Skip Hocker, state police Trooper Michael Knight, and federal agents from the DEA,
U.S. Marshall Service and The
State Department.
