FOCUS
Is an academic success program designed to enhance the grade point average of participants. FOCUS advocates hard work and personal rewards for people who are committed to themselves and their futures. This program is geared toward incoming freshmen and returning sophomores.

Frederick Douglass Lending Library
The purpose of the Fredrick Douglas Lending Library is to help financially challenged and matriculating underrepresented students obtain the necessary textbooks for their academic classes. The Office of Human and Cultural Diversity purchases these textbooks through a grant provided by the State System of Higher Education.

Educational Opportunity Program/Act 101
The Educational Opportunity Program helps students whose educational and economic backgrounds have not quite prepared them for the college experience. During the summer before the freshman year, these students are instructed in writing, learning strategies, reading, and other communication skills for college credits. If the summer program is successfully completed, students are enrolled for the regular academic year. Faculty and staff provide ongoing professional and peer counseling, study skills instruction, and tutoring for these students as needed.

Foundation Program
The Lock Haven University Foundation Scholarship Program is held during the spring semester providing recognition and financial assistance to students who are selected using a range of criteria.

Tutorial Services
Tutorial Services are available by peers in small groups for select lower-level courses in the Tutorial Center. All tutors are academically qualified and trained.
