Navigator

The Navigator Program is a multicultural student success program designed to enhance the academic, self-esteem, confidence and leadership performance of Lock Haven University students. The Navigator program prepares juniors and senior for the transition into the working world or graduate school.

Statistically, students who participate in student success programs such as this:

  • Get higher grades
  • Have less anxiety
  • Develop higher self-confidence
  • Establish better relationships
  • Develop a business portfolio
  • Sometimes we learn best from those who've successfully been through the routine before. Each participating freshman will be paired with an upperclassman mentor for the semester. Mentors must also be participants of the program and have a 2.0 G.P.A. If you would like to be a Mentor just fill out the attached request card and show up at the first meeting.

    Participation

    Those who participate are expected to show the same commitment to this program as to other classes. Participants will :

  • Voluntarily follow a develop a clear and concise
  • Develop educational tools and skills to establish proper study skills
  • Meet weekly in small groups to evaluate and applaud each other's progress
  • Develop a Credentials file and Business portfolio. And prepare graduating seniors for post college transitions.
  • Participate in one intercultural field trip The experience should prove to be fun, educational and uplifting during the semester!
