A River Runs Through Us: Exploring the Poetics of Place
Inspired by the host university’s setting on the banks of the Susquehanna River, between the Alleghenies and Appalachians, the 2010 EAPSU conference theme “A River Runs through Us” invites exploration of the possibilities and permutations of place and its representations wherever we live.
Our featured speakers this year will be
James Prosek
(fisherman, wildlife painter, essayist, and environmental activist) and
Julia Kasdorf
(poet, biographer, and life-long Pennsylvanian).

Conference Details:
- EAPSU is a consortium of English Departments from the (14) public state universities of Pennsylvania, which organizes a professional conference each fall, an undergraduate conference each spring, and a proceedings journal.
- In 2010, the fall conference will attract approximately 150 attendees, including 100 presenters, from four different countries.
