PA Certification in Prekindergarten through 4th grade:
Lock Haven University offers a Bachelor of Science in
Early Childhood Education
with PreK-4 Certification.
In addition, the highly qualified faculty provide coursework with a strong focus on children from birth through 9 years old. Our focus is on the whole child and we provide opportunities for candidates to work in diverse settings with children from infancy through the fourth grade.

LHU has had a tradition of a strong stand alone Early Childhood program with PDE approval and NAEYC Accreditation.

The program provides a strong focus on cognitive development of young children beginning at birth.

A focus on teaching reading to young children, including a Reading Minor is available to all ECE majors.

We provide students with more than 20 weeks of in class teaching and internships.

Our highly qualified faculty teach all of our major courses, have all worked in a variety of learning environments with young children, and hold a terminal degree.
