Candidacy Requirements (Application for Candidacy)

Course Requirements
  1. Completion of 45 credit hours
    (Check with your Advisor about applying BEFORE you
    complete 45 credits)
  2. Overall GPA 3.0
  3. C- or better in English Composition
  4. C- or better in English Literature
  5. C- or better in 6 credits of Math (Math 101 or higher)
Completion of Other Requirements
  1. Completion of the Diversity Profile Plan
  2. LHU Disposition Self-Evaluation (in LiveText)
  3. Passing Scores on Praxis One Series Tests (Reading, Writing, Math)
  4. Completion of Student Works Consent Form
  5. Attendance at Teacher Education Freshman Orientation Meetings or completion of Freshman Education Seminar
Current Clearances Recorded in Office of Teacher Education
  1. Act 33 (151) - Child Abuse Clearance
  2. Act 34 - Criminal Background Check Clearance
  3. Act 114 - FBI Criminal History Report
  4. Negative TB Report
