Opinions and Discussion: Alternative forms of Energy

- Green energy ideas

o Solar sails (MSNBC news)

o Green roofs of LHU campus

o Geothermal energy

o Tidal energy

o Windmills, Dams

- Oil Companies and their thoughts

o Not necessarily disapproving, but it’s cheaper

o Oil companies don’t even put forth the effort to look into the research

o Fracking, lack of education on the consequences

o “It creates jobs” - they don’t look far into future of how this could be a problem

- What can WE do

o Discussions on Natural Gas – educate the community

o Brochures to people who are interested

o Supply Information in newspapers, college hangouts

o Get other clubs and organizations involved in getting out the information

o Napkin holder messages in Bentley

o Eco Facts in public places

o Raffles and fundraising

o Earth hour

o Compost garden in LHU
