Dr. Ralph L. Harnishfeger, Professor of Biology B.S. in Wildlife Science (Cornell University); M.A. in Zoology (Southern Illinois University at Carbondale); and Ph.D. in Zoology with a minor in Physiology (Southern Illinois University) Teaching Responsibilities: Field Natural History, Science Seminar and Environmental Policy and Regulation. I have also taught Ecology labs in past years. Other Information: I have also taught Zoology, Comparative Anatomy, and Basic Biology Lecture at LHU and Wildlife Biology and Management Laboratory, Natural History of Invertebrates and Natural History of Vertebrates Labs at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. I currently serve as an Associate Director on the Clinton County PA Conservation District Board and have been past member, Vice Chair and Chair of the City of Lock Haven PA Environmental Advisory Committee. I serve as LHU’s representative to PERC, Pennsylvania Environmental Research Consortium. |

Dr. Kenneth Thompson, Professor of Biology Ph.D. in Zoology with specialization in Ichthyology and Ecology (Univ of Texas at Austin) Teaching Responsibilities:BIOL102 (Environmental Science), and BIOL309 (Ecology). Other Information:LHU's representative to the Wallops Island Marine Science Consortium where I have served on the Board of Directors (1996 - 2008) and presently serve on the Academic Advisory Committee (2008 - present) and as Curator of Fishes. My research interests are the evolution of fishes, cytotaxonomy, invasive species and water quality monitoring. |

Botany (Southern Illinois University at Carbondale); Ph.D. in Plant Pathology (Penn State) Teaching Responsibilities: Introduction to Environmental Studies (ENVT101); Seminar and Principles of Biology and Basic Biology. Other Information: My area of expertise is fungi, especially plant pathogens of agricultural systems with a focus on viticulture. Fungal biotechnology is paving the way for environmental clean-ups and ethanol production. |

Several students work on externally funded environmental research projects related to AMD impairment of streams and potential impacts of Marcellus Shale drilling on the quality of surface water and groundwater in central PA. |
