Understanding Your Summer Financial Aid

Your financial aid package is primarily based on information you supplied on the FAFSA. It is also based on your summer registration and housing status. If any of this information is incorrect or changes, your awards may be adjusted.

If your financial aid package includes an estimated Pennsylvania State Grant , you should complete the online "Pennsylvania Summer State Grant Application" at www.aessuccess.org . To do so, you must sign into Account Access (see upper left corner of the web page). Please complete the Summer State Grant Application as soon as possible. The application deadline is August 15, 2012. For help with the summer state grant application process, please contact AES/PHEAA at 1-800-692-7392.

If your financial aid package includes a Federal Direct Stafford Loan AND you are a new borrower, you must complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) and a loan entrance counseling session online. T o do so, sign into https://studentloans.gov, then click on the "Complete MPN" and "Complete Entrance Counseling" links. You can also check at https://studentloans.gov to see if you have already completed a MPN and counseling. For more information about Direct Loans, please click here .

If you wish to cancel or reduce a loan , please complete the 2011-2012 Loan Change/Cancellation Form available online at www.lhup.edu/financial-services/forms.htm.

If you wish to cancel or reduce other (non-loan) aid, please notify Student Financial Services via email at sfs@lhup.edu . Include your full name, LHU Student ID Number, the enrollment session (e.g. Summer Session I), the type of aid to be adjusted, and the adjustment to be made.

Your financial aid award(s) is subject to the Terms and Conditions listed here. You are responsible for knowing and understanding the terms and eligibility requirements related to each of your awards; therefore, you must carefully review that information. The award is also subject to any additional terms that may be imposed on or may apply to specific aid sources included in this award.

Your summer financial aid award is based on the following assumptions:
Upon review at the end of the spring 2012 semester, you will be found to have made Satisfactory Academic Progress through your most recently completed semester/session.
You will promptly attend to any and all requests for information required to further your summer aid processing.
You will immediately inform the Student Financial Services Office of any changes in your enrollment (i.e. registration) status.
You will promptly inform the Student Financial Services Office of any sources of financial assistance (e.g. tuition waiver, scholarships, etc.) not reflected in your summer financial aid package.
