Please Note: Only continuing students may carry winter intersession charges forward to spring. Please note that in order to receive financial aid for the spring term, a student must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid purposes. Do winter intersession credit hours affect my spring semester financial aid eligibility?
For most students, no. However, for students enrolled part-time spring semester, winter intersession credit hours will be combined with spring semester credit hours to determine financial aid eligibility. For example, if an undergraduate student takes 3 credit hours during winter intersession and 6 credit hours spring semester, his/her spring semester financial aid will be based on full-time, rather than half-time, enrollment. This 'special' determination and use of enrollment status pertains to financial aid eligibility for spring semester only (see note below).
Please Note: Winter intersession is a session separate from the fall and spring semesters. It cannot be combined with either of these semesters for determining full-time enrollment for student-athlete eligibility, health insurance coverage, etc. In addition, the intersession will be billed as a separate session. Intersession credit hours cannot be combined with fall or spring semester credit hours for purposes of determining tuition and fee charges.
How does my winter intersession coursework affect my financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status?
Winter intersession credit hours are combined with spring semester credit hours when your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status is checked. SAP is checked each year after spring semester. To view LHU's financial aid SAP policy, please click
