Summer Financial Aid for New
Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Students

Financial aid for new EOP students attending the 2008 Summer Session may include:

To apply for either the Pell Grant or Stafford loan, EOP students must complete a 2007-2008 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).    FAFSAs are available from Student Financial Services upon request; however, it is strongly recommended that students  complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov rather than do a paper form.  Students are advised to submit the 2007-2008 FAFSA to the processor by May 1, 2008 to allow ample time for processing; however, the FAFSA application will be accepted through June 30, 2008.  When a student completes the 2007-2008 FAFSA, he should list Lock Haven University of PA (Federal School Code 003323) as his school.  This will ensure that Student Financial Services receives the results of the application.  The student will then be sent a financial aid award letter to inform him of his summer financial aid eligibility.

Students who wish to apply for a Federal Stafford Loan must indicate interest in student loans in question number 26 on the FAFSA.  Indicating interest does not obligate a student to accept a loan.  The maximum loan amount an EOP student may receive for the 2008 Summer Session is $1750.00.  The amount he receives will depend upon several factors, including his educational expenses and other financial aid.  The student will be notified by mail of the loan amount approved.
