Assistance for Balance Due
This page contains general information for students with student account balances due and/or registration holds. When a student fails to pay the balance due on his/her account, the Student Accounts Office may place registration holds on those accounts. A hold blocks schedule changes, pre-registration, and the processing of transcripts and/or diplomas.
Please review this information carefully. If you feel your situation calls for individual attention, please do not hesitate to contact the office indicated. A staff member will be happy to assist you. Office hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm weekdays.

If you are enrolled in the TMS Monthly Payment Plan.......

If you have a federal or state grant (e.g. Pell, SEOG) that has not yet been disbursed.....
Contact the Financial Aid Office at 570-484-2344 to inquire about the grant status. Additional information may be required in order to determine or confirm your eligibility and, if applicable, disburse your grant.
If you're a first-time Federal Direct Stafford Loan borrower whose loan has not yet been disbursed.....
Master Promissory Note (MPN)
New borrowers must complete and sign a Direct Loan Master Promissory Note (MPN).
You must complete the MPN online at https://studentloans.gov . You will be required to use your U.S. Department of Education issued PIN to complete an electronic MPN. For additional information or to ask general PIN questions, visit the official PIN site ( http://pin.ed.gov ) or access the PIN customer service web page ( http://pin.ed.gov/PINWebApp/contact.jsp ). The web site https://studentloans.gov is for completing a Direct Loan Program electronic MPN. Please review the information in "What You Need" and "What to Expect" sections on the site before completing an electronic MPN. New borrowers must complete a loan entrance counseling session.
The US Department of Education (ED) requires first-time borrowers at Lock Haven to complete a loan entrance counseling session. This includes continuing students who are first time borrowers on the campus and all entering graduate students. This session includes information on loan repayment obligations and the consequences of loan default. To complete the entrance counseling session, go to https://studentloans.gov . Your counseling results will be electronically submitted to the Financial Aid Office.

Review your budget carefully and, if applicable, talk to your parents to see if you can pay some or all of the past due balance without borrowing additional funds.
